Camp ROCK is a six-hour extended school year program hosted by Slippery Rock University and the Butler County Family YMCA, June 18-29, for 23 campers ages 12-21 on the autism spectrum. The camp provides equine-assisted therapeutic recreation and other activities promoting health including horseback riding, archery, yard games, biking and horticulture among its variety of activities. Twelve SRU students, including 10 from the Recreational Therapy program and two from the University's Music Therapy program, and local high school students are also taking part, acting as mentors for the campers.
