SRU ranked No. 1 online college in Pennsylvania by EDsmart

Slippery Rock University was ranked No. 1 on EDsmart’s 2021 ranking of the Best Accredited Online Colleges in Pennsylvania.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University was ranked No. 1 on EDsmart's 2021 ranking of the Best Accredited Online Colleges in Pennsylvania. SRU scored a perfect 100 out of 100 on EDsmart's scale, which is based on data points in three categories: affordability (financial aid, net price), student satisfaction (retention rate) and student outcome (four-year graduation rate).

SRU offers 19 online master's and doctoral degree programs and seven online undergraduate degree completion programs.

EDsmart is an online resource that reviews publicly available data to produce independent ranking assessments of various educational programs. All evaluated data were gathered from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System, U.S. Department of Higher Education, College Scorecard, Payscale.com, school websites and other reputable sources.

Also making the list were three other schools from Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education: Indiana, Millersville and Edinboro.

According to EDsmart's news release, "The Best Accredited Online Colleges in Pennsylvania ranking allows students to compare accredited programs and find those that best fit their education interests and career goals. Beyond providing affordable education, a college is not successful if it does not graduate its students, which is why EDsmart rankings place a high value on outcomes, including graduation and retention rates and post-graduation earnings."
