The two-day celebration known as Slippery Rock University's 2021 Spring Commencement saw the conferring of more 1,700 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium, April 30-May 1. It was the first time since 2008 that SRU staged graduation ceremonies outdoors, doing so in order to protect the health and safety of attendees due to COVID-19. In years prior to the pandemic, spring commencement was conducted inside Morrow Field House. The events put a wrap on years of work as students crossed the commencement stage, bumped elbows with SRU President Bill Behre and Provost Abbey Zink, and received their diplomas.
