SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Boozel Dining Hall, Slippery Rock University's primary dining facility, will close for renovations at 6 p.m., May 10. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen Aug. 12. During the closure, summer food operations will shift to Weisenfluh.

Effective May 15, summer service at Weisenfluh will include breakfast (7-9 a.m.), lunch (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and dinner (5-7 p.m.) All meals will be served buffet style.

"We are still offering our usual summer program, it's just going to be at a different location," said Chris Cole, director of auxiliary operations and academic and student affairs resources. "People should expect the same high quality food and service (at Weisenfluh) and they will see a fresh new look when they join us at Boozel in the fall."

Improvements at Boozel will include a kitchen renovation and the replacement of refrigerators and a walk-in freezer. What guests will notice most will be a new interior color scheme and new décor at the various food stations.

"AVI Fresh, our contracted food service provider, is being very creative and will use the food court stations at Weisenfluh to offer the all-you-can-eat buffet and all the offerings that people who dine with us during the summer have come to expect," Cole said.

Boozel will reopen in August for students arriving early for the 2019 fall semester. Weisenfluh will reopen as a retail food court, Aug. 26.
