The Slippery Rock University Theatre Department's production of the musical "The Fantasticks" opened April 22 in the Stoner East Black Box Theater. Written by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones and directed by Aaron Galligan-Stierle, assistant professor of theatre, "The Fantasticks" is the longest-running musical in the world, featuring poetry combined with theatrical sophistication to result in a timeless fable of love that is both nostalgic and universal. There will be additional shows, 7:30 p.m. on April 23, 25 and 26, and 2 p.m., April 24. Tickets are $12 for SRU students and $15 for non-SRU students, except for April 23, which is community night and all tickets are $10. Tickets can be purchased online at sru.edu/tickets.
