An opening reception for the 2019 Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition took place April 2 at Slippery Rock University's Martha Gault Art Gallery. The works of 55 SRU students are featured in the exhibit that is on display through April 17. Artwork submitted includes ceramics, drawings, digital, fiber art, graphic design, metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video and animation. The juror for this year's exhibit was Rachel Saul-Rearick, arts and culture manager at Pittsburgh International Airport. She previously served as the arts, culture, and history specialist for the city of Pittsburgh. First place was awarded to Madison Wick, a sophomore from Grove City, for her clay work, "untitled;" second place went to Pauli Kentosova, a freshman from Slovakia, for her photo, "Water Polo;" third place went to Rachel Peterson, a junior from Russell, for her acrylic and oil paint on canvas, "Araycia;" with honorable mention going to Alina Glath, a junior from Butler, for her monoprint, "Threads."
