SRU invites fans to “White Out” IUP Jan. 31

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The extended forecast for Jan. 31 calls for partly sunny skies and 31 degrees. Despite the pleasant outlook, inside Slippery Rock University's Morrow Field House, organizers hope it'll be "White Out" conditions.

   

Mother Nature, however, will have little to do with the situation. Rather, a sea of white t-shirts will be behind the state of things as part of SRU's annual "White Out" Night when The Rock women's and men's basketball teams play host to archrival Indiana University of Pennsylvania at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. respectively.

All fans that attend the games are encouraged to wear white and join what is expected to be one of the largest crowds of the season.

"The 'White Out' game is a great way to inspire enthusiasm and to get everyone pumped up to help support our teams," said Joe Flynn, manager of the Student Government Bookstore.

As one of the event's official sponsors, the bookstore has specially-designed t-shirts available for $5. T-shirts will also be available in the field house lobby, while supplies last, the night of the games.

The SGA Bookstore, located on the lower level of the Smith Student Center, is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Jan. 22-25; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Jan. 26; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Jan. 27; and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Jan. 29-31.
