Osteopathic medicine combines the benefits of modern medicine with hands-on diagnosis through a system of therapy called osteopathic manipulative medicine. Osteopathic medicine focuses on helping people achieve wellness through disease prevention and health promotion.

In order provide you with the highest level of osteopathic training possible, SRU has partnered with Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM). Through this partnership, once you have successfully completed specific course work at SRU, you may continue your education in Osteopathic Medicine at LECOM.
What Will You Learn?
In addition to SRU's comprehensive, broad-based foundation in biology, which includes microbiology, vertebrate anatomy, and organic chemistry, you will continue to LECOM where you will learn the holistic, hands-on specialty of osteopathic medicine and have the opportunity to gain practical experience.
Careers In Biology / Osteopathic Medicine
As a doctor of osteopathy, you may have a private practice, or you may find yourself in a team of health care providers or participating in clinical research.
