Yamamoto presents at ACTFL convention

Junko Yamamoto, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of secondary education and foundations of education, presented at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages convention and world language expo, Nov. 17-19, in Chicago. Yamamoto’s presentation, titled “Instructional Materials That Teach Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion,” exhibited materials collected by ACTFL's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee members that incorporated goals for world language classrooms. The information and work samples were reviewed and discussed by attendees.

ACTFL is a community of language education professionals passionate about expanding diversity across all levels of education. More than 7,000 world language educators from the United States and 65 countries attended the event.
