Fadoua Loudiy, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of strategic communication and media, has been named president of the Pennsylvania Communication Association for the 2023-24 academic year.

Loudiy was previously vice president and she served as the host and organizer of the PCA Convention, last month at SRU. Representatives from more than 20 Pennsylvania colleges and universities attended the convention. The PCA is a statewide professional organization that promotes teaching, research, service and development of all areas of human communication.

Additionally, Loudiy authored an article that was published in the Atlantic Journal of Communication titled “Before the law: A Ricoeurian approach to civil discourse.” Loudiy’s article explained how a legalistic understanding of free speech can be limiting and even damaging, especially when applied to freedom of expression in educational contexts.
