SRU’s peer tutoring and peer academic coaching programs certified by CRLA

Slippery Rock University’s peer tutoring and peer academic coaching programs have been awarded Level 1, 2 and3 certifications by the College Reading and Learning Association. Amber Hamilton, an instructor of exploratory studies and academic progress; Emily McClaine, the associate director for academic success; and Julie Ferringer, the assistant director for academic success, have worked to develop a training program that meets CRLA’s rigorous standards and successfully completed the International Tutor and Peer Education Training Program certification peer review process.

The CRLA is a group of student-oriented professionals that provides a forum for the interchange of ideas, methods and information to improve student learning and facilitate the professional growth of its members. More information can be found on the CRLA website.
