SRU contingent presents at Beyond the Classroom conference

Eight professors and staff from Slippery Rock University presented at the Beyond the Classroom: Community-Engaged Teaching and Research Conference on June 2 at Gannon University. The event, organized by the Partners for Campus-Community Engagement, is an annual regional conference that connects community-engaged practitioners from various colleges and universities to further develop their knowledge and skills surrounding community-engaged teaching and research.

SRU presenters were:

  • Jana Asher, associate professor of mathematics and statistics.
  • Chris Cubero, associate professor of counseling and development.
  • Sue Bowser, assistant director of the Institute for Nonprofit Leadership.
  • Seth Lee, instructor of literatures, languages, cultures, and writing. 
  • Jeffrey Rathlef, director of community-engaged learning.
  • Josette Skobieranda-Dau, associate director of Butler SUCCEED.
  • Doug Strahler, associate professor of strategic communication and media.
  • Matthew Zarit, professor of nonprofit management, empowerment and diversity studies.
