Slippery Rock University dance majors recently performed at events in Philadelphia and Chicago.

Kendall Alexander, a senior dual dance and psychology major from Valley Stream, New York, performed her solo modern dance piece, titled "Vacillate," at the Trifecta Dance Festival at Stage 773 in Chicago's Belmont Theatre District. The festival brought dancers from across the country together for performances, master classes and professional photo shoots. Alexander's solo was one of 65 works presented at the festival.

Alexander also performed work that she choreographed at the Koresh Artist Showcase: January Black Box Series at the David Cooper Black Box Theater in Philadelphia. Alexander's modern/contemporary solo titled "Noitazilivic" ("Civilization" backwards) was one of three performances by SRU artists at the festival. Tiffany Shrom, a senior dance major from Quarryville; Kaitlyn Falce, a senior dual dance and exercise science major from Pittsburgh; and Laura Ardner, a junior dance major from York, performed as a group, and Lindsay McGivern, a 2017 SRU graduate with a bachelor's degree in dance, was a guest soloist.
