Representatives from Slippery Rock University’s Association of Residence Hall Students recently won two awards at the Central Atlantic Affiliate of Colleges and Universities Residence Halls conference at the University of Cincinnati.

Angel Morgano, a junior chemistry major from Pittsburgh; Caitlin Morris, a sophomore criminology and criminal justice major from Oakdale; Haylee Oates, a senior accounting major from Ligonier; and Amour Grizzle, a senior health science and public health major from Pittsburgh, attended the conference as executive board members of the SRU chapter of ARHS. The SRU chapter won the Best Roll Call Video and the Golden Pin Award, recognizing them for their creativity greeting others at the conference and trading clothes pins with other schools. SRU’s winning pin was a small replica of the SRU’s mascot, Rocky. Oates was also awarded the Distinguished Delegate Award for her involvement within the ARHS organization.

The ARHS is an on-campus organization at SRU made up of students living within residence halls and acts as an advocate for the needs of residence hall students through programming and other support.
