Top 50 Big Data programs

Valuecolleges.com rankings consider only regionally accredited universities and colleges and ranks them according to a formula using data gathered from U.S. News & World Report rankings, PayScale and actual cost per credit as reported on each schools' website.

"With all industries anticipating a serious shortage of qualified Big Data analysts, it's no surprise that professionals in the tech field, and students looking for a future career, are looking to these programs," said Carrie Sealey-Morris, lead editor at valuecolleges.com. "It's no surprise that for many of these prospective students, online seems to be the answer. We have sought out the most trustworthy online degree programs that can promise the best return for students."

SRU's program prepares students to use data analysis methods, use predictive modeling, maintain data security and communicate effectively with constituents. Graduates of the program receive both a master of science from SRU and professional certificate from the SAS Institute for Advanced Analytics.

SAS is one of the most widely used software platforms in the world for performing data analytics and statistical analysis. SRU is one of only 56 institutions in the U.S. offering the SAS certificate. Additionally, the program prepares graduates to take the Certified Analytics Professional exam administered by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences.

The 33-credit hour program can be completed in 10 months full-time or two years part-time and is offered fully online.
