   SRU's 2022 fall enrollment.

First-year enrollment is the highest it's been since 2019 and there continues to be strong demand for the academic and life experience SRU offers.

According to the official count taken Sept. 12, the 15th day of classes for the Fall 2022 semester, there are 8,243 students enrolled at the University. First-year enrollment is higher than each of the last two years, at 1,459, but total enrollment has decreased 2.1% compared to Fall 2021. This is due to smaller first-year classes in the pandemic years of 2020 and 2021. However, SRU's 82.3% retention rate of students returning for their second fall remains well above the 75% national average. The 15th day is used as the official date for national and state reporting purposes.
