Sept. 14, 2021

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Members of the Slippery Rock University community are invited to meet candidates for the University's open position of chief diversity officer by attending open sessions, 3:30 to 5 p.m., Sept. 16, Sept. 21, Sept. 28 and Sept. 30, on the third floor of the Smith Student Center. Each of the four candidates who were invited to campus for interviews will present for 30 minutes before answering questions from the audience.

"We are excited to welcome four high quality candidates to campus," said Dennis Washington, vice president for University advancement, who is chairing the search committee. "This is a vital role for our University so it is important that we have faculty, staff and students participate. We encourage everyone to attend because we need their input."

SRU announced its search for a CDO earlier this year. The CDO will work collaboratively with campus and external communities to advance SRU's commitment to all aspects of global diversity and inclusion and serve as a member of the President's Cabinet.

In addition to meeting with the 18-member search committee, candidates will meet with SRU President William Behre, members of the President's Cabinet, leaders of selected student organizations, leaders of employee unions at SRU, chairs of the President's Commissions, and other campus representatives.

The following is the schedule for open sessions, which includes links to candidates' application materials and response forms to be completed by open session attendees to provide input for the search commitee:
