Slippery Rock University's annual juried student art exhibition and reception happened April 12 at the Martha Gault Art Gallery. SRU art students were able to submit up to three pieces for consideration. This year's juror was Kimberly Koller-Jones, executive director of the Hoyt Art Center in New Castle. Koller-Jones chose the artwork for the exhibition and announced the winners during the reception. Winners included: Maggie Acker, a senior from Coudersport, first place for "Hand I & Hand II," oil on wood panel; Anthony DeRosa, a senior from Slippery Rock, second place for an untitled ceramic work; David Gordon, a senior from Mars, third place for "The Harvest: Sowing," etching and drypoint; and Summer Weinheimer, a senior from Derby, New York, honorable mention for "Orchid," monotype on found paper.
