SRU’s homeland security degree earns national ranking

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University's bachelor's degree in homeland security has been ranked as one of the nation's best by Study.com.

Study.com is an online resource with more than 50,000 guides to help prospective students make important college and career decisions. Rankings were compiled with consideration given to factors including academic and career resources, the quality of education and program faculty.

SRU's homeland security program provides a comprehensive study of the skills needed to prevent human-made and natural disasters. Students learn how to investigate, protect and minimize the effects of these adversities, as well as how to respond to and recover from those same threats. Student also learn the tools necessary to fight terrorism, protect infrastructures and key assets, secure intelligence, and devise disaster plans to respond to real-world issues.
