Psychology: Pre-Counseling 3+3
Offered by: PsychologyThe Psychology 3+3 Pre-Counseling is an accelerated program that enables you to complete the undergraduate courses required to begin graduate study in 3 years. It prepares you to become a licensed Counselor, working in a variety of counseling settings, including community mental health centers, college counseling centers, and others. This program is unique because it offers a strong basis in the biopsychosocial processes of human functioning. You will receive personal attention and gain insightful knowledge through activities both inside and outside of the classroom. Our goal is not only to prepare you for a future career, but also to enhance your personal, academic, and professional growth, so you can go on to promote the well-being of others.

The program is an accelerated preparation for graduate study in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or or Student Affairs in Higher Education with College Counseling.
What Will You Learn?
Courses are blocked to ensure that you will receive preparation in all areas of Psychology, consistent with the biopsychosocial model used in counseling. After completing the core required courses, you will choose electives in each of the following areas:
- Applied Psychology
- Biobehavioral Psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Diversity
During your final year, you will also complete a professional competency course in either research or community practice.
